​About Us: 
Greater Faridpur Association of Canada [ GFA Canada ] is a voluntary registered non profit organization in  Canada, working for welfare to support people. The organization is run by an elected Executive Committee and governed by a constitution.

Being inspired by enthusiasm we expatriated inhabitants of five districts, Faridpur, Rajbari, Gopalganj, Shariatpur and Madaripur, formed Greater Faridpur Association of Canada. Our Association is the link to communicate with those who constantly come to this distant abroad. The Greater Faridpur Association of Canada is purely a non-political, non-communal social and humane non-profit welfare-oriented body for all irrespective of race-faith and caste-color. Its basic principles are equality, fraternity, social service, and upliftment of the society. We are living in Canada and we recall our family and relatives always, particularly on all auspicious occasions of religious and cultural festivals. Through this organization (GFA, Canada) we enjoy those functions and festivals in united way. During such moment we feel that we belong to one family. The basic goal of this organization is to stand beside each other.

আমাদের কথা :
বৃহত্তর ফরিদপুরের মানুষ, তাদের পরিজন, বন্ধু ও শুভানুধ্যায়ীদের মাঝে সম্পর্ক ও যোগাযোগের সেতু বন্ধন গড়ে তোলার উদ্দেশ্যে ২০১২ সালে  বৃহত্তর ফরিদপুর সমিতি কানাডার জন্ম । বাংলাদেশের বিভাজন পূর্ব ১৭ জেলার অন্যতম ফরিদপুর । ফরিদপুরের অসংখ্য কৃতি সন্তান বাংলাদেশের জাতীয় ও আন্তর্জাতিক অঙ্গনে নিজেদের স্বকীয়তার সাক্ষর রেখে জেলার মুখ উজ্জ্বল করেছেন । এখানকার মানুষ বরাবরই বন্ধু বৎসল, আন্তরিক ও আত্নমর্যাদা সম্পূর্ণ । বৃহত্তর ফরিদপুরের মানুষ আজ জীবন ও জীবিকার প্রয়োজনে বাংলাদেশের বিভিন্ন জেলা তথা সারা পৃথিবীতে ছড়িয়ে ছিটিয়ে আছেন । তাই এই আপাত বিচ্ছিন্ন হয়ে যাওয়া ফরিদপুর পরিবারকে একসূত্রে গেথে রেখে একটি পরিবার হিসেবে গড়ে তোলার ভেতরেই আমাদের সার্থকতা ।

প্রবাসে আমরা নিজেদের মধ্যে যোগাযোগ এবং একে অপরকে সহযোগিতা করতে পারা এবং ভবিষ্যৎ প্রজন্মের মধ্যে সামাজিক বন্ধন গড়ে উঠুক এটাই আমাদের কামনা। ওয়েব সাইটে একটি সদস্য ফরম রেখেছি, এটা পুরণ করলেই কানাডায় বসবাসরত বৃহত্তর ফরিদপুরের যে কেউ সদস্য হতে পারবেন।
